I think it's nobody's job to make you happy and you, and only you, can be responsible for your happiness.
However, having a partner and being in a *healthy* relationship can contribute to your happiness, yes.

Yes you can be happy single because it's your job to make yourself happy. However, I think we all need and crave a partner at some point in our lives. It's innate in us as humans to crave a companion because biologically speaking we are meant to procreate.
