Would you guys consider a 13 year age gap (between a 31 year old male and an 18 year old female) too big of a difference?

Just to clarify: someone I know has genuinely fallen for a man of that age, and a lot of my friends find it strange and alarming. Just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on this.

How did they meet? I'm generally leery of relationships between very young women and men in their late 20's or older. Older men who habitually hit on teenagers tend to be quite immature for their age. For whatever reason they aren't attractive to women closer to their own age so they hit on naive younger women that can impress with big talk.

I would guess that the girl has no plans beyond high school, and has unsupportive parents.

Greatly depends which way it goes and if it’s ‘age’ or ‘person’ that is mentioned in the sentence.

If she is doing the chasing and there was never any previous interaction, that he’s not interested in because of her age, then it can work.

for someone 18 years old it is a lot. I'd suggest not to get in too deep. No talk of kids, marrying or move in together the next 3 years or so.
