Depending on where you live, you could certainly rent a decent apartment. As far as qualifying for a mortgage, I think that might be tough in most major metropolitan areas. You must consider your debt load as well

I apologizing for not notinganything about our income. We are in a different age bracket than you and are fairly set in our careers now, I think when we bought our first home 19 years ago we made about 75000 a year b4 taxes. , but I had a post graduate degree student loan that was expensive and we had one car payment as well. Keep in mind that taxes take a lot out

My husband makes about 3k a month for the both of us. We live quite comfortably in our area.
