How long did it take you to forget your ex?

It was my ex-husband that broke my heart in two. It's been over 40 years now, and I still have feelings for him. We had a baby son together who looks so much like his father. Even now when I hear certain songs from back then, I think of him and wonder where he is and what he's doing. I am not obsessed with him by all means. I just know he will always have a special place in my heart. Good memories with him that I won't ever forget.
He was in a rock-'n'-roll band, lead guitarist. They used to play songs by Boston which still come on the radio in the car. Man, he was good!

i forgot mine too easily. it hasn't even been a month. i wondered if it's common

well technically i can. i mean most of the things like his stories he told me. or like his favorite stuff. most of that i just can't remember.

its almost like i just wanna forget him maybe.

You are not supposed to forget your mistakes. That is how we learn lessons. Remember the good and the bad, learn your lessons, and it's even okay to miss the good parts of the relationship as long as you also remember the bad parts and understand that reconciliation means you get the whole package - good and bad - again.

If he wasn't in my phone immediately, I ashamed to have any connection with him , this man lost all my respect, I don't even want to share air or my zip code. If I could magically erase him from my memory and his I'd be grateful.
