Boyfriend and I had a conversation and we both got frustrated and ended up crying. Healthy?

He did nothing wrong, used kind words, was using his words clearly, wasn't yelling, used a soft voice, etc. He got frustrated and I seen a look in his eyes that triggered me into a emptional break down. I have had trama in the past I have delt with and haven't had a trigger that resulted in my crying without control and breathing heavily without a reason. My partner never seen one people and didn't know what to do so he held me and we cuddled until my heart rate settled down. We talked about it and he asked how he could help in the future. I said everything you did. Talked about what caused it and how nothing he did was wrong I just unexpectedly triggered after almost 7 years. My social battery and pushed a lot, hardly no food in me all day, lack of sleep and I drink a lot prior too which I think played a factor. He was so supportive.

My question is should I let him support me. Did I handle the situation alright? I'm thinking of doing a therapy session to determine why it happened and get to the root of it.
