Single Women... After reading this, can you please convince me why a self-made man should marry you?

Yea unfortunately for me marriage died in 2012 when they legalized it for anyone rather than keeping it a sanctimonious thing. There are almost no benefits to marriage now except some tax breaks. Maybe if the marriage contract became void when vows are broken it would be a lot better. Cheating should automatically break the marriage contract. Instead it’s just a paper that says nothing except you have a lot to lose and NOTHING keeping the other from divorcing or staying faithful. Men need to be smarter. Prenups only or date how women date: only people who have the same income or higher.
That is a long time to be married. I've only been married almost 9, but we've been together 11 years totally. He's got life insurance, an annuity for me, and he put me as joint owner of his auto shop in '16. Even though we argue, he's told me I've done a lot of shit for him and he will never let me down even if we ever get divorced. And he says if he dies before me, all I gotta do is at least split up some of the money w/whoever in his family is still alive in Mexico. They are kind of poor. I said of course.. I don't need a lot of money anyway. If I do live longer than you, and when I go to Guanajuato to give the family some money, I might as well stay there! It's quite peaceful. But someone has to take me to the jungle!
Don't assume all women are in it for the money.
At last a sensible comment. All the others are like if he's gonna marry me he's obliged to split or something. It's a shame actually.
no one's forcing you to marry me if you wanna marry me it's cause you want to i could write a novel on what i think I'd be like but no one knows what they'd do unless given a choice. if divorce became a choice in your marriage than a lot of things happened and the ending has little to do with what we think about it because we weren't here until it was over.
My meaningless thoughts on the topic..
Marriage is a pretty silly concept that society is gradually realizing to be an archaic concept.
For every dude screwed out of $$ in a divorce, there are many more (the stats don't exist, for a variety of reasons no one would read about here) female victims of domestic abuse.
In your example, the 70-yr-old dude is the one who filed for divorce so...

This probably isn't the forum for a question like this because all it does is inflame the women who think that this is perfectly okay and that it's the man's fault for ending up in this position, for example, by not getting a prenuptial agreement. Ironically, I'd wager the majority of these women wouldn't sign a prenup themselves, instead blaming the guy for "not trusting her", because it takes away her ability to do what that woman did. Notice that none of the women actually answered your question.
That's why I won't be getting married without a prenup. Sure I don't have much. But I'm still going to ensure what mine is mine if we separate. Also I'm not going to be the only bread winner in the house. So of we do separate she can support herself and can't push me to support her in anyway.
ROFL.
See this is what separates idiots who happened to strike it lucky from legitimately skilled self-made men. Idiots who happened to luck out can't think ahead. Actual self-made men get a prenup.
Just as how successful women that did so through abilities, brains, etc. get a prenup.
A print up isn't worth the paper it's written on.
@JamesRandiDebates Too bad in law & in court it is. Try to educate yourself. You sound retardedly stupid otherwise.
Prenups are routinely tossed out by judges. And after 10 years, they are automatically void. Try educating yourself, honey.
@JamesRandiDebates ROFL. Name one that's been voided, mongrel, and then maybe I would believe you. There's only certain times it will be and that usually requires Supreme Court so if you're not spouting bullshit your blubbering will be easy to prove.
You are too stupid to continue with. Have a nice night, sugar-tits.
@JamesRandiDebates Loser. You're the only stupid one. Makes claims but doesn't have the spine or the balls to back it up. Talk about a cowardly mongrel.
Yes they do throw them out. Often its because they argue the woman was emotionally held hostage or not informed enough to consent. For example im 35 and my girlfriend is 19. If we were to marry and she sign a prenup she could argue she was taken advantage of by an older man that could throw her out of his house if she didn't sign it so its duress *facepalm* but if she was 35 and well off like me then what would i need a prenup for? Its a catch 22. there's lots of other situations that it gets thrown out too. If its signed too quick or too slow it can be evidence that she didn't understand it... but why is that even important? Whether you understand a loan contract or not is irrelevant if you sign it. But women are given special protection to prenups. Generally worthless garbage.
@APrettyLittleLady87 are you retarded or something
Well, I find it bad, men keep you when you are young and then throw you when you get old, so I don’t see anything bad in it.
Imagine what it feels like you have loved a man for almost 40 years and gave your life to him and someday when you get old, he prefers being homeless over being with you…
And for the money, I don’t care, I used to have 10 times more salary than my boyfriend when I met and fell for him and I love him the most in the world, I just think men who divorce women when they get old, just want to spend their money for the young pussies, so it’s not totally unfair for a woman to be able to keep some of his assets.
Exactly
@anon1903 Yeah, I just checked and seems like he actually cheated with a woman who is 27 years younger than him.
Well, now he wants to break up with the woman he vowed his loyalty till death separated them and that’s all just for a younger woman who wants him just for his money, because let’s admit no one wants a 72 yo men unless they are in their late 60s, 70s themselves.
How can men be this stupid I have no idea… All the women fooling you they are in to daddies or grandpas are just into your money or status. So better stick by the side of woman who helped you get where you are now, rather than leave her as if she is not the woman you loved madly enough to marry her.
And spend half a century with…
The asker is notorious for taking things out of context
Sometimes people just fall out of love.
I don't know anything about this case and I don't really care but I don't think every asset should have to be split. For example anything that owned before a marriage that you still have should continue to be yours as well as anything you inherit so let's say you inherit a house during your marriage when you divorce that house should still be yours same thing goes with inherited money or money you've saved up from before the marriage.
I'll admit some marriages and because someone was a bad person but not always sometimes people just fall out of love and that's it and while this idea of how a divorce works used to be a decent way of doing things culture has changed quite a bit and now divorces are super common and these days both partners have jobs which means the idea of splitting assets really doesn't matter that much anymore especially splitting income
Now in the rare cases where you actually have a stay-at-home mother who doesn't have a job these things still make sense but they don't really do as much good anymore and just give incentive to gold diggers
@crossdressingrihno Do you refuse the only gold digger here is not the wife but a woman 20+ years younger who ended their marriage?
That’s obvious for me, I can go out and end any rich man’s marriage if I wish.
I had a 20 years older judge (my professor) chasing after me and he was quite rich, what if I fool him and end his marriage with his wife, this will make me a gold-digger, not a wife who married him when he didn’t have his fortune and the man breaks up with him just because he wants a young pussy.
You loved someone for 38 years and suddenly fell out of love? 38 years family is hard work + love, you keep loving cause this is your choice, the first few years is a passionate love, then you just make it work, put your efforts to keep the love and fire.
Do you think women don’t like young men? If young men had as much money as older men, no one would even look at older men, I am saying it as a female, who knows the female mind.
The sooner men stop believing in bull*** the better. He won’t be able to fuck in a couple years and then she will cheat, if she’s not already cheating, why not spend the last years of life with a mother of your children and grandmother of your grandchildren?
I don't really know much of what to say because I kind of don't know what you're talking about.
Like I said I don't actually know much about this specific scenario and I don't even care.
What I said was a in general statement which I think I've said somewhere in the beginning of my statement I think I said it in the beginning I might have said it later on but I don't know.
Yeah I did say that I didn't really care and didn't know much about this specific scenario at the very beginning it's literally in the second and third line within my statement
@crossdressingrihno No worries, I just get really angry when I hear of older men leaving wives for much younger females.
I get it I'm not upset. I have things I'm very passionate about too.
Also misunderstandings like this pop up all the time for me. I've noticed in this app most people aren't very detailed oriented when reading something which is the antithesis of the way I do things because when I write or read something I generally put in a lot of energy when it comes to detail which is led to very short points which most people overlook but these very short points are like very important like if you miss even one of them you immediately derail the conversation entirely and I'll admit this is something I need to work on if I'm going to continue using this app because most people they just they don't seem to grasp that that's what's going on is that they are missing this very fine detail in my arguments that makes the whole thing fit together
@Juxtapose I think she gets it by now
I think she's just a little too passionate about the subject is all. We all get that way and it's totally fine
You mean the stereotype feminists. But yeah I get what you mean there's a lot of people like that out there on both sides actually but still I get it
The sad thing is 30 years ago I would have been considered a left-wing extremist but these days I'd be considered one of your fellow right-wing yeehaw m***er f***ers.
Sorry I added the term "right wing yeehaw m***er f***ers" for comedic relief (hope it made you laugh) anyways have a wonderful day
@crossdressingrihno it did cause me to chuckle
@Juxtapose she's just answering the accusations from the asker. That if women want to marry self made wealthy men, men wouldn't mind having a lady half their age on their arm either. It's a win win situation.
@Juxtapose good for you
The major problem with US in this case is the payment after the divorce. It should end there and then maybe give her a few months to get on her feet but with divorce court, I would say it could end right there and then since that thing takes time, enough time. If you want money for the rest of your life, you should stay married for the rest of it.
Eh... play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
That daft idiot decided to save money and not get a pre-nup. He won the prize for such a glaring error. She was right to cash in.
If the shoe was on the other foot, he would have cashed in too.
Low tier psychopath take...
Holy sh*t! He's not even still regularly getting work, is he? This is just one reason why I'll never get married now. Even IF a man has to get married, he should ALWAYS get a prenup. Jesus, Pearlman got f*cked like he was at Gitmo.
It’s not her fault he didn’t have her sign a prenup. She’s a horrible person for taking all of that though. I have a conscience myself.
I don’t care if he tries to marry me or not. I’m not into the whole marriage thingy anyways so if he (rich guy) or any guy tries to marry me, I wouldn’t do it anyway
Men should not marry or get a prenup if they really have to get married. Family law is very gynocentric.
Why do we have to differ or separate men and women all the time , what is the logic behind it , just why? They are like puzzle particles that combine each other. Pls stop doing this I beg you.
Well, for one thing, there is no such thing as a self made man. Everyone needs help and everyone alive has received help.
I... Somehow really doubt Ron Pearlman is truly homeless.
Like, without his LA home, sure. But it's Ron fucking Pearlman.
You're not self made so we don't owe you any explanation. 🤣 You're not self made therefore not what we want.
this question was not about me, I clearly said "A self-made man" for a reason. also I dont want to get married either way, I rather be in an asylum.
till then you turning this question personal and assuming shit about me screams it really loud that my question triggered you somehow.
Again we don't owe y'all an explanation.
Did they have children? Did she upkeep the home? Did she help him in his career?
@DCPowered it all depends on what the bread winner makes. In this case dudes a millionaire. He won't miss the money.
Why does it matter if he misses it or not?
@bamesjond0069 its communist 'logic "
This is why you dont get married. I don't know why men are still doing it. Hint hint wink wink women dont leave you for not marrying them and the ones who do are the ones who would take you to the cleaners so good riddance.
Under rated analysis...
This is why you don't get the government involved in your sex life people!
My husband is self made and married me. He says he likes my personality.
I also just read that. If she is getting all of that in permanent alimony he agreed to it in a contract. The court rarely ever does permanent alimony unless a spouse is severely disabled and incapable of working.
Hun, the women usually running after these rich bastards are gold diggers half their age
Because they have vaginas. Can't think of any other reason.
Fuck those terms I’d never agree to em. Would find a way to prevent her from getting that money (assuming she initiated or cheated)
He can be celibate or come out the closet. Not that its right but if you're going to hate women, you are of no use to us.
That's why I'm not married. LOL
Not one of these women answered the question 😂
I dont think you have anyhing to worry about.
you should. but with a prenup
Yes, it's fucked up.
What the heck?
