Guys, if you worked predominantly with women - about your age - and were the boss = not interested in hooking up would you tell them you're engaged?

I am just wondering about an old friend / former colleague. I don't have any intentions of encroaching if he is engaged/involved with another woman.

But someone told me he was engaged. I've known him for well over a year. He doesn't have a ring. He doesn't have a ring line. And he has never once, even in passing, mentioned a fiance.

Never mind when I happened to drop by in a professional blouse & dress pants, that accented figure, he was staring. And when I happened to give him a big-ass smile, the cause was happy about something, in saying hello I'm pretty sure he was "struck dump" because he didn't answer what I asked him after.

Yes for sure and I woukd be wearing a ring. Some old pewter or silver or something to make certain that they believed me. Especially as boss in this corporate world of today.

It wouldn't be my first course of action, but if just saying "I don't mix busine and pleasuce" didn't work, I can see resorting to it. I don't lying, but there are many options I'd like even less.
