Guys, if you & your partner living together do you think she should help you with bills or do you think it's fair that you pay for it all?

personally, that would depend on the circumstances and the specific situation...

when I was in my earlier 20's and of college age I had my place and I had my job as well, and my girlfriend at the time was fully dedicated to her college career, and she lived with me so... I never asked her to split the bills and the costs of living, and I didn't need that either, I could take care of it and it was never an issue and she had only her studies as major expenses, it worked for the both of us and it made things easier for both

later in life though, my late 20's... I had another girlfriend, and then we were both of working age, actually, we both had our businesses going, so we both bought a place together and we also split the costs, the bills and other expenses of living together, and again... there was no issues about it

so, I think the best way to go is to actually talk about it and asses the situation and the specific circumstances, whatever makes things easier and better for both, that's what the couple should go with

Guys, if you own your own home, you want to pay for EVERYTHING.

She can pay her own cell phone bill, but do not allow her to pay for a portion of the mortage, utilities, property taxes or any homeowners or association fees. If you split up, you may find that she "owns" a portion of your home. This happened to a good friend of mine.

As far as renting, make her pay for her own share of everything.

I mean if she is good with being told what she can and cannot do. And what I require of her. Then sure, she can have all that covered. Moment she stops fulfilling what I ask, in that situation, she is useless to me. So it’s best she help with all of it

If I’m sharing a place with anyone be it family, friends or a girlfriend they will help with bills but I won’t be unfair about it. They’ll help with what they can afford to it’d be based off their own earnings, hours and finical situation.
