Why do guys lie to their side chicks even when the side chick knows about their main relationship?

I sadly was a side chick for to a guy for a few years when I was younger. I found out about his girlfriend after getting involved with him. I confronted him with proof that I knew. He still lied and denied his girlfriend. However, he wanted to continue a sexual relationship with me. I went along with this for awhile because I had grown attached to him... eventually I came to my senses and ended the relationship. The guy continued to pursue me and denied his girlfriend despite my always being direct with him and providing proof that he was in a relationship.

Why did he continue to try and lie to me? I'm just curious because he reached out to me again despite my ongoing ignoring of him.

Personally, I never bother to lie to a side chick... and I've had many. But I've seen it and think I understand why guys do it. For me, I find the side chick by basically being like, "Look, here's my situation, this is what I'm looking for, how about you?" They know right from the start and a lot of women don't go for it... but you'd be surprised at how many married/taken girls, or girls in a situation where forming a relationship doesn't make sense at the moment, will go for a guy like me over any single guy at all.

So I'll be blunt, some guys are just trying to get laid at any cost necessary. Unlike me, they don't want you to choose the "thanks, but no thanks" option because THEY ARE THIRSTY... like thirsty to the point of willing to say whatever they need to say to get into those panties. Personally, I think that's dangerous because that's just talking someone into something based off of false premises... and that's going to piss people off and they COULD fuck with you back... Like in your situation, bet it pissed you off you got lied to, if you were vindictive enough you could tell his main chick. Fuck that.

This is why I wouldn't try to trick some chick that's poking and prodding for an exclusive relationship.
