What are the pros and cons of a polyamorous relationship?

As someone who has been in one, my opinions are:

Pros
1. You can fall in love with multiple people, which might make you feel less restricted by the relationship. If you feel the butterflies again, that is okay.
2. You can get support from multiple partners, as you can normally can from multiple friends. But the bond between partners is just a little tighter.
3. Being cuddled by two people is better than by 1 person.
4. In this economy, you need at least 3 people to buy a decent house. Split the bills!

Cons:
1. Double the partners means double the work. It isn't all rainbows and sun shine.
2. You have to accept that sometimes you become second place. Jealousy is a common problem in relationships and especially in poly relationships.
3. It isn't always like a triad or a quad. The partner of your partner doesn't need to be your partner. Heck that person doesn't even have to be a friend of yours. And it becomes difficult when your partner's second partner is someone you absolutely do not like.
4. Polyamorous relationships are accepted less than monogamous relationships. Heck, try to find a three person bedroom with 1 bed in a hotel.

Honestly, I think poly relationships work best when all people involved love each other, so with a triad for instance (triad is a relationship of 3 where each person is attracted to the other 2). Otherwise it can get messy with jealousy or dislike to your partner's partners really quick.

Like this question because I feel my girlfriend and I almost have a triad with our threesome partner...

the bad side:
there could be jealousy, someone always feels like a “third” , and it feels too casual. If you have the type of poly relationship where people just come and go then it feels like a very “open” relationship.

good side:
very exciting sex, you get to love 2 people, in the right mix you may even fall in love with the same sex

I can only really guess at this, but why not.
1. For lower drive partners, there's less pressure on them to meet satisfactions if the others have each other, or if multiple are low drive they can split the load.
2. More people can pleasure you instead of one.
3. Not just one person having your back, but two or more.
4. Tiebreakers for deciding where to eat :D
Cons:
1. Splitting the attention/risking being left out by the others.
2. Marriage situation gets difficult and spicy.
3. Social pressure.
4. Jealousy.

A definite con is someone often feels like a third wheel, and always needs to make sure each of us is treated equally and fairly. Sometimes two will appear to start getting closer and the third feels left out.

A pro is, if your all living together in the same house, with the massive inflation you got going, you might just get by with a three income house.

I only speak for poly three person, not more.

No idea, open relationships I can see the appeal, poly seems like double the work and overall the hard part about relationships, with very little in return
