If it's your birthday and they told you they were going to take you out and then doesn't but gets you a cake and says they will take you out to eat but doesn't. Just drops you off at your house so you can spend it with your family. Few days later drops some food off at your house for you to eat and then leaves.

If you are one to celebrate his birthday and make it special then yeah, that would hurt my feelings. Nothing is wrong with him bringing the cake, that’s nice of him, but it would’ve been better for him not to say he was going to do this or that if he wasn’t going to and for no good reason.

Did you give him a date that you could do? Or follow it up at all? It might be your birthday but you still have to work with people a bit or they just don't know of you want to do things... they can't read your mind.
