Is Losing Total Faith in Dating & Marriage Justified?

I am asking this question because I am starting to lose faith in dating & marriage after reading news stories about a court battle between Johnny Depp & Amber Heard. All else equal, I'd rather not enter into a committed relationship or date after learning about the horrifying truth revealed during that trial.

It's good to be on guard, but giving up on an aspect of life that earlier you were interested in seems a bit much.

JD had his fair share of red flags. If he chose to ignore them and continue the picture of a happy married life — then that's on him.
