Is leaving your boyfriend or girlfriend for another girl or guy ever justified?

Let’s say your boyfriend or girlfriend felt you were emotionally cheating on them (even if it wasn’t true) and wanted you to stop talking to a guy or girl who they believe you liked

Fast forward and you break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend (for a reason of course but he or she (your boyfriend or girlfriend) felt it was because you were emotionally cheating).

It seems there may be more to your thought here than what you are expressing. Because it's obvious that no person has to stay in a relationship if they feel it's not good for them or their life.

People change partners. That's life. Others have to deal with it, even if they weren't ready for it to end.

Your question is probably something more along the lines of do you have to feel guilty for getting into a relationship with that other person, the one your partner suspected you of liking. Yeah, you have to live with that. You said, "It's nothing" or something like that, and they didn't believe you. They were right, weren't they?

It's always justified to break up with someone. There is no ruling saying you have to stay in a relationship when your not happy with it there used to be for woman in many places and sadly in some cultures still true but mostly we've progressed beyond that.

What is not justified cheating or been controlling. One could argue not allowing you to be friends with someone is controlling which becomes a subjective case by case cause while it can be for sure, it can also be you are neglecting your partner for someone which would be a easy reason to leave.

It's always justified. If you're unhappy in a relationship and would be happier with someone else, why would it be ok with to waste your partners time? This is how people end up cheating.
