Do guys ever leave their girlfriends for someone else?

Basically, I really like this guy at this restaurant I work at. We're always chatting and we have so much in common - he's a really nice guy! But I've recently found out that he has a girlfriend, and she has a kid (I don't think it's his..)

It's horrible of me to say, but how often do guys leave their girl for someone else? Thing is, I'VE been left for another girl before, so surely it does happen...

I just think me and this guy properly click, and I'm gutted that he has a girlfriend. I know it's horrible to want them to break up, but I've had the worst luck with guys and I think I deserve a bit of happiness for a change..

It can happen, it happens all the time..but to be honest you shouldn't go after a guy with a girlfriend. I know you may like him, but once you find something like that out then you need to back off. I had a girl try to come in between my boyfriend and I and it was a bad situation, the ending of it is the other girl is no longer in our lives at all. Being friends is fine and all, but there are so many other "fish in the sea" leave the taken ones alone and let them be happy. If he is not happy then he needs to deal with that on his own and leave her, but if there is no problems between them then leave them be to their family. It's the respectful thing to do. As for that child, you also need to think of him/her. I have a son that is not my boyfriends and my son LOVES my boyfriend to death, and if anything were to happen to us he would be heartbroken. I know you want to be happy but there are other people in this situation other than yourself. When it comes to a single guy be selfish and fight to get him, but not when he has someone else in his life. I hope you can see what I'm saying here and really think about your actions :)

Yeah I guess... it's probably just me being cynical because this happened to me. I don't know... all the good guys appear to be taken. :/ The single guys are single because they're complete pricks or because they're weird and bad looking. Maybe I should settle... sigh.

You should never settle, and to be honest there are plenty of great guys out there. Most women look in the wrong places such as bars etc. Yes a lot of good men are taken but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there for you.

you don't know whether the child of his current girlfriend is his or not? And who is to say his girlfriend doesn't deserve a bit of happiness either? And you just "recently" found out he has a girlfriend, so you barely know this guy and you are already hoping he ditched his girlfriend (and possibly his child) for you? You're delusional. Most people call women like you "psychos".

Well, look at it this way: suppose he actually DID leave his girlfriend. How, then, could you trust him to not leave you once someone else came along?
