Why would someone want to stay in a relationship with you if they stopped giving affection and intimacy?

When a partner stops giving you affection and intimacy when it was never an issue before and you tell them you aren’t going to be in a relationship with someone that withholds sex and affection and you tell them it’s over between us , why do they still want to be in a relationship with you? What would be the point? What are they holding onto if they don’t want to be affectionate or intimate with you anymore?

To me it’s selfish to strong someone along , if you aren’t happy in a relationship than it’s best to move on and begin a new chapter. I have told my girlfriend numerous times that I am ok if she leaves because I am not feeling the chemistry and connection we use
To have , and told her I am open to meeting someone else , she acts like I am crazy , then I yell at her and tell her if she really valued me and loved me she wouldn’t be with holding affection and intimacy from me and that I feel I am the only one giving without receiving, She keeps telling me she is going
Through menopause and that she is waitingFor her doctors appointment and claims she isn’t seeing anyone else , for the past month I haven’t been her priority , it’s like she prioritizes everyone else over me and I told her I can not be a punching bag anymore that I am ok if we go out separate ways , I been honest with her that I feel I am being played and that I am open to meeting someone else because there is no point in being in a relationship with someone that can’t give the same back in return , I feel like I am just a convenience to her and that she is stringing me along until something better crosses her path , I haven’t cheated but part of me wants to because I feel used and I am tired of being a sitting duck , I know it sounds selfish of me but is it really selfish that I am sitting here being a constant punching bag? I been reading so much on menopause that it’s fucked up what girls do to their men during this time , and they say most girls cheat during this time , so am o supposed to just sit back and wait to be cheated on?
