Trending & News Sort of. See, everything that's not created deliberately, and in fact every ELEMENT that's not specifically engineered otherwise, has its nature determined by the realities that underlie it- which in this case means that human society is mostly a product of how we evolved. Not all of it- some things we changed (for both better and worse), but the majority of its aspects are just consequences of nature.
To that end, men get respect- society needs them to take ludicrous risks and face down dangers that women would flee in terror from, and there's no reason to do that without a degree of respect; a big part of the reason so many young men are effectively dropping out of society is that that respect is largely gone. Why? Well...
Where men get respect, women get empathy- society needs THEM to be safe, to keep its numbers up. They HAVE to be risk-averse, and see themselves as more in danger than they actually are: look at pretty much ANY newspaper, magazine, or internet article talking about crime; you'll see a section about how women are particularly at risk. This, despite the fact that the only time you see a form of crime that has more female than male victims are when the male population has plummeted so far that women are the vast majority of the population, or another social bigotry is so entrenched that male victims are largely prevented (the most obvious example is sex trafficking in the US, where the bias against male homosexuality means most victims are girls and women). It's why sexually mutilating a baby is considered a horrendous crime- unless it's a boy; that's okay. Perhaps even expected.
This is gene-level deep stuff; you can fight through it for yourself, but you can't make society do it.
Nobody’s entitled to respect. Basic human decency yes but not respect. Respect is earned and how to earn its different for every people. I see emotional women everywhere so the fastest way for a woman to earn my respect is to disagree without being loud, defensive, or aggressive… it’s a sign of intelligence. And god do I hate passive aggression and sarcasm when they think your wrong.
I've always been treated with respect from the people around me.
I see a lot of people saying that respect is earned, and I agree that it is. However I can also guarantee that nobody is going around disrespecting everyone until they decide that the person has earned respect. A good, non hostile society is built on assuming someone deserves respect until they prove otherwise.

I don't know what culture you're from but that's pure bullshit. You have my respect up into the point that you lose it and that's exactly the same for any men that I mean. I show respect as long as I'm given respect.
False. Men understand that they have to earn respect. Women do not. (Many women, not all.) Women think everyone should kiss their ass just because they take off their clothes on camera and take advantage of weak men. This is just one of many examples.
False. The closest to respect being given for free is saying hello back when someone says hello. Being polite to a person who is polite to you. Etiquette. But real actual respect, going the extra mile for somebody is earned.
Wtf is this take? Respect can mean 2 different things. One just means treating someone like a human being (without being disrespectful) while the other is more like a form of „admiration“. The first one is based on reciprocity the second is earned. Why would it be based on gender?
False. Respect is all earned, but most women squander it early, leading to the incorrect perception that the statement is true.
False: Respect is earned to all, a disrespectful person can’t be entitled to demand any.
That’s a two-way street from my experience. How about you?
If anything it is the other way around in society.
Respect is earned, not given like free candy.
False. Both must earn respect from the other.
Fucking Bollox.
False. Both genders have to earn respect.
False, but they try and do it anyways
False. Respect is earned no matter who you are.
Lmao.
I have zero respect for manchildren
But you love stupid bitches 👍
Respect is always earned? Who said this?
