Yes, I believe it is important to have a good relationship with your neighbor because they may be helpful in the future. My family, including myself have always had good relationships with our neighbors. They have helped us and we have helped them regarding some matters as well. It’s a mutual benefit.

If your neighbor is rude, noisy or simply annoying, it is understandable to remain aloof with them. You needn’t force yourself into liking someone when you don’t.

Although they are quite some distance from us, we're fortunate in having an excellent relationship with our neighbours.

You just never, ever know when you might need them, and vice versa.

I only know one of my neighbors by first name. None of them are friends but they are not enemies either. All we do is say Hi when we walk by. Nothing more. I dont judge them they dont judge me and thats it.


Having an enemy as a neighbor, is not good for anyone.

I voted "not needed". You NEED to respect each others' boundaries and stay out of each others' business. Having a good, friendly relationship with your neighbor is a bonus, but not a necessity.

I don’t think needed, but nice to have for both social reasons and safety. My neighbor is great. We hang out on occasion, we invite each other to some of our parties, and look out for each other’s properties
