Why am I not missing my partner when he’s away?

My husband has been gone for 10 days due to family reasons and I feel like I don’t miss him. He’s on my mind all the time but I don’t have that I miss you feeling. Is this normal? I love him so much and we have a great relationship but I’m feeling bad that I’m not feeling those things anymore.

We are all missed from time to time. If you’ve been together for a bit, you have become comfortable together and it’s easier to deal with the days spent without your significant other.

i’ve been traveling for 10 or 11 years, and I remember the early days. We missed each other very very much and then our family grew even more and it became harder. Now when I’m gone, they miss me but it’s not heart wrenching and we are comfortable with that. What’s important is that you show love when you’re together and in your conversations :-)

Sometimes to truly appreciate something or someone one needs to be away for a period, so that one can take stock and remember why they appreciate that thing or person.

The Japanese say that if your home is on the side of Mount Fuji, one cannot appreciate it. But if one takes a trip a long way from it and then turns to look back upon it, then one will truly see its magnificence!

I think you're confident in your relationship and that the time away from him isn't as bad as you thought it would be. I'm sure you'll be jubilant when he does come back however. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
