It's a terrible investment to have a harem of gold diggers, a losing one. That's why you don't see that. And imagine all of the jealousy and entitlement a guy in such circumstances would have to deal with, so what's in it for him? Absolutely nothing except chaos, grief and maybe some nuisance lawsuits.

What makes a lot more sense for him is to get the best, most compatible woman he can.

In addition, it's not at all clear that the gold digger would be better off in such a polyamorous situation- the gold digger is better off as a spouse, which gives her much more leverage, rather than as one of four or five gold diggers trying to get all she can and having to constantly worry about being replaced if a more desirable woman comes along.

Those studies are false/non replicable. Most people tend to pick an SO based on common interests, looks, or both. Gold diggers are the extreme minority.
