Not merely because said women are unhappy with the men avalable, but those men really are not in a position with the lower level jobs left to them to support said women as child raising mothers they instinctively want to be.

You better figure out a way to deal with the excess men because historically a surplus of un-marryable men tend to be come very violent and dangerous, destabilize and destroying the host civilization if not channeled into some kind of hopeless cause.

In our case its pushing the west to the brink of collapce and revolution/Civil war.

It's a good question. Thiugh one husband-one wife marriage (monogamy) is historically what happens, and works best for most people, if people really want and agree to polygamy, why not?

Interesting question. I think the actual stat is that women find 80% of men ugly and not just below average looking. I don't think the college stats are very significant either because the bottom cohort of women will have an IQ of 90 whilst the bottom cohort of men will be 105.

College degrees are degraded in value due to lower IQ of the degree holders and that women tend to do Feminist Studies and Communication degrees which intrinsically have low value.

I have no doubt that women prefer to share a superior man than to have exclusivity of an average/median man. What I would question is the value of formalizing harems which is what we are inherently talking about.

Why would this superior man want to formally marry six wives when each of the women know that if she doesn't perform well then she will be replaced by a girl that does perform. Can't see any advantage for that man.

I think we should just make marriage illegal since it clearly doesn't work any more.

Pretty sure the law is not really prohibiting people from having polygamy in the first place. Its kind of one of those crimes that is hard or impossible to enforce and there are plenty of groups that practice polygamy in USA such as Mormons.

People with student loan debt aren‘t in better financial situations.
