Girls, If your boyfriend was planning to move to another country permanently would you consider the relationship over?

I had someone I was dating move to another state and we ended it, so another country I would for sure. The only exception would be a silver lining, like if he planned to come back in a few months or I were moving closer. Otherwise it’d just be too difficult and depressing.

What if he said move with me even though your friends and family are here?

It really depends. You have to keep in mind that you’d be essentially asking her to uproot her whole life. Moving to another country with only your partner and no connections where you’re going can be very isolating as you well, so I’d want to be sure the relationship is solid and he isn’t a man who would take advantage on the fact that I’d rely on him for support. Especially if I didn’t have a job lined up out there, I’d have to depend on him financially as well until I started working, and codependency is stressful. It honestly makes we wonder if that’s why some women start having babies, maybe as a means of feeling useful.

What if he makes really good money, would that change your mind if you didn’t have to work?

Everyone is different and for some women they would love to be taken care of and not have to work. Personally I’m not a fan of that, because it gives guys a lot of control. Don’t get me wrong, some men have great morals/values/etc and don’t create any issues for their partner, which is ideal. Other men feel entitled to deciding their partners choices simply because he pays for her whole life and thinks he can tell her what to do, what to wear, who she can and can’t talk to, and the list goes on. My fear of that outcome wouldn’t allow me to be a homemaker.
