Why did my ex get fat?

I saw me ex yesterday and she used to be fairly fit, also she would kind of always dress nice. She had gained a lot of weight and also was not wearing any makeup what would make someone go from dressing super nice and always having their hair and nails done to how she is now?

She has just let herself go , probably too content , many women do this , she has just stopped trying , poor self esteem also , nothing worse , no excuses.

Maybe felt like she had to keep up with her looks in your relationship but now that she's free of that she can be herself
