Is it normal for my partner to have a "Back-up"?

I have been seeing my partner for the past few months and we recently decided to become exclusive. Earlier this month she told me one of her coworkers asked her out and she rejected him. However, I overheard her telling one of her friends that she wishes he would've asked her out earlier and that he'll be the first to know if anything changes between us. She jokingly added, "it's always good to have a back-up...". I don't know how I should feel about this. What is the best move in this situation?

Nowadays, since sex dominates any relation and takes precedence over any other traditional part of a relation, it is not uncommon to have a back-up for the relief of either the high levels of testosterone or estrogen.

The hook up culture that prevails among young people is the direct consequence of the gospel as propagated by social media and the porn industry that wants people to be liberated and free to sleep around with everyone and anyone.

I personally don't find it normal but I am from the old school that believes in traditional values and not the hook up culture.

I think that for you it is time to sever this toxic relation before this lady does it with you in favor of her back up plan.
