Men in mid 30's and has never had a serious relationship. Why?

I know a man who is 35 years old. He has a very good job, and is devote to it. Owns a nice home and car. He is way above average in the looks/body department, and he is smart. He is very active in his spare time, with sports. He also is polite and kind, and yes, he does like women.

I am wondering why he chooses to stay single, when he could have just about any girl he wants? He says he just does not have time because of work, and also that he is just very picky when it comes to girls.

At his age, shouldn't he be considering a long term relationship, or is he just destined to stay a bachelor for life, and be content with that?

perhaps he is just picky, & he hasn't found a woman that he wants to make time for.

there are many possibilities, he could be extremely work focused, but I'm sure he still has urges, many people devote so much of their life in their career, they forget about their social life. this may be why he's so successful, house, car, good job.

perhaps he is considering a long term relationship, but hasn't found the person that he desires to share that with, if you're interested, get to know him. people who haven't had a long term relatinoship before can't usually just jump into one. I was single for a long time, just due to the people who were around me, yes, I'm younger than this male, but it's the same concept. I didn't want to invest emotion and time on someone who I didn't really care for.

He sounds like a narcissist. I've dates such men in the past. They are insecure and need superficial things around them to compensate for their egos. All the so-called positive attributes you have mentioned are empty without true companionship. I bet you he never marries and if he does it will be for superficial reasons like the partner being super loaded, super smart, super attractive and holding a reputable place in society. I don't mean only one of these traits, but all of them. Stay away from these people, they are a waste of your time.

well, differnt things. You can be loved & love, feel that sense, without a committed relationship. People have different ways of experiencing love. Some through work. Thru volonteering. Thru groups, Family. Friends..

To answer relationships. Some people DO want but decide they are better off without a relationship. Some people do not want one at all. imo More common, a person, at some point, does not want a relationship 'right NOW'.. Perhaps his right now, is 30 years old.. He may change in future:)

He could not be on good terms with woman. happens all the time, Good guy gets screwed over by the vast amount of trash in this country. went on with life, used his time to get a good job. never met anyone and got to where he is. has his own home, and a rather good life. Why bring someone else in who for a greater than 80% chance will divorce him and take what he worked so hard to get on his own. What could they bring to the relationship? he already sounds like he is set.

I think haing a partner can bring many good things to a relationship. I think it is sad, that so many people view women/men as something that is just out to get your goods, and move on. Does no one believe in love and devotion any more? Maybe people should stop thinking life is like the Jersy Shore. LOL:)

Sadly its how life works. Overly Feminist brainwashing in the media showing woman that men are dumb,useless and replacable. And the lack of a real balance culture with moral values. Our country is mostly christian yet we have the highest devorce rate? getting Married is becoming too risky for men as well. Overall it is sad but its the truth

Being there for each other even when everyone else has walked away...(And I haven't even mentioned raising a family) If these are not qualities to you, I wonder what is... Fake boobs? Oh yes, and cars and real estates. In that case, you're right, marriage is useless to you. You can call me overly feminist, but I think if a guy (same for woman) doesn't want to stand by his partner when life gets rough that is not a quality person.

I know someone like this who's a close friend of mine and only 19.

He says relationships are just more of hassle than they're really worth. He could spend his time more efficiently doing anything from volunteering to exercising. The point of having a relationship is lost on him, and although I feel differently, he really is right in a very logical sense.

Some men and women are just like that.

It has crossed my mind more than once, that maybe his is not 100% sure if he is into guys or girls... I know if he was into guys, he would not be comfortable with letting the cat out of the bag... or maybe he just enjoys the single life. Being single is great, but as you get older, you kinda want someone to grow old with, or at least I would think.
