Would it be safer to stay home tonight?

I live in a state by myself away from friends and family near a large metro city. I want to go out tonight, but this morning I told this guy to stop contacting me. We were in the early stages of seeing each other and hooking up, he showed controlling, jealous, angry, paranoid, psychotic, impulsive, and hostile behavior. He was also a Cocaine addict (which I later learned). He knows where I live and the bars I frequent. Should I play it safe and stay home this weekend? Or just go out and hope that he doesn't show up to retaliate against me in any way? I feel weird about this situation but I want to go out.

You shouldn’t go out alone. It’s not the same without someone (or more) to have fun with anyway. Trust your gut. Sounds like it’s trying to warn you.
