I love working in my garden and on my house, mowing the lawn at this time of the year. It's still cool, so it's no chore. and watching my veggies grow and flowers bloom is always a thrill.

I also have an interior life of writing and I love film, so I do inside time too. But outdoors is rejuvenating! Bees, birds people strolling by, fixing things up... It's great doing!

@handsomelad70 You know what encourages me most about people who are struggling with a disability, the ones with walkers and canes are the ones who WANT to be out living and enjoying life! I am so encouraged by these people and the fact that LIFE FINDS A WAY. I know that's a quote from Jurassic Park, but it is a brilliant line.

YOU ARE FINDING A WAY. Of COURSE you like walking. I bet you like it MORE after your stroke, despite the fact that it might be more difficult to do, because it reconnects you TO LIFE. Keep at it! I support you all the way.

It's also why I'm making my home accessible while I am still able to do so easily. I want to live easily in my house until they find me rock frozen on the floor!

My goal is to create a roll-in, well barred (support bars) shower, add grab bars where I have my old tub so I can climb in and out more safely ( I've slipped a dozen times, at least, over the three decades I've lived here... never hurt myself, but have scared myself).

Add bars up and down the three sets of steps to and from my front door and my tenant's front door.

One of the giant reasons to have such a shower, I've been using the one at my nearby gym. It is HEAVEN!!! I can lean over and shave my legs, it has space to hang a towel inside and outside the shower, but away from splashing water! So well-designed! It's a pleasure to use.. I'm almost tempted to take showers there whether I use the gym or not!

So I am now a happy indoor person 😅
