Why do most people avoid commitment in a relationship these days?

Avoidant attachment issues from past experiences, whether it's from childhood or previous relationships can really affect how an individual commits in a relationship. Fear as well.

Some people just prefer to have the freedom to do whatever they want without having to answer to somebody else. Or, they're just not ready to commit.

Because people want to control their own lives rather than have to compromise away their own dreams and ambitions.
