My best friend just left for college, need help deciphering what she means?

To keep it short and sweet, my girl best friend of many years just got situated in her dorm at college, and she’s only an hours drive from my school. She asked me the other day if I could come see her and possibly stay the night in her dorm (she doesn’t have a roommate so we’re left with an extra bed). The situation between us is weird because we remain for the most part platonically friends, but every now and again we would either sext or sometimes conversation of a relationship together might come up as we were hanging out. She does talk to other guys and that really worries me.. also we haven’t hooked up yet but she had to leave college so we had no time.
Should I take her offer to stay as a signal that she wants more out of our relationship (ie: friends with benefits or actually starting to date?) or just a friend showing another friend their dorm and letting them stay?

My opinion is that she just wants you to come up and visit. Just from the relationship dynamic that you describe. (However I could be wrong.) Maybe go up and stay in the extra bed and hang out and see what campus life is like. I wish I could re-visit campus life like that. I've been out of college for decades but I miss it.
