So I've known him for a couple years now, and he's the VP of the club where I'm President. (We have to work closely together). I think we mutually enjoy each other's company, every time we're together alone we end up talking for hours, about our jobs, lives, future plans, shared political/religious beliefs etc. He walks me to my car and hugs me goodbye (he initiates). We text often (sometimes club stuff, sometimes personal stuff) and he's become a close friend, but I have feelings for him. Do I tell him or just stay friends? I don't want things to be super awkward because we have to work closely together, but he also is so sweet to me and we really vibe well together.
Always separate business from your private life and never mix the two because they don't mix well at all.
Kept things casual and don't involve feelings, mainly in the positions both of you are. Not only will this be detrimental to your partiality in the club but will also create tensions among other members.
There is no difference whether the persons are co-workers or members of a board, it is just something that will go wrong. Guaranteed.
Best is to stay friends and to avoid possible conflicts of interests within the club. Just think that the day you have private issues should you get together, then this will impact on the decisions you have to take at the club.

Agree with others‘s opinion on the point that there is a professional relationship to consider here. But you already admit to yourself that you have romantic feelings toward him, so things will only get more difficult for you in the future even if you don‘t act on it. For example were he to date someone else in the same club or bring his girlfriend to meet people there,… There‘s no easy solution but if you feel like you can no longer stay as normal colleague with him, then honesty is the only way to go forward.
Ask him honestly about what he feels and his opinions and try to go from there. Better to have things cleared and resolved than to stuck in a limbo
Go for it but keep in mind there is a pre-existent Business relationship. Think you can handle both. ⁉️
