Is it okay to be friends with both people in this situation?

My best friend is getting married today.

Frankie (my best friend) may be in love with me. The feelings are not reciprocated/mutual as I have a serious relationship with my girlfriend.

I would like to be friends with my best friends fiance Tara. Tara & I speak casually on the phone a few times now.

My dad says it's not a good idea to be good friends with Tara. He knows frankie is in love with me & to just be friends with Frankie & not the fiance.

That doesn't sound right to me at all.

What do you think?

Ask your best friend how she feels about it. Forming a friendship with her wife to where you’re having phone calls and such may not be comfortable for her.
