Is it ok if I hang out with him alone without the friend group? and is it weird that we’re still friends?

I am still friends with a guy I had a situationship with 2 semesters ago in college. I mostly hangout with him when our mutual friend is around. Now it’s a new friend in the picture and she’s a freshman and they liked each other. I didn’t have a problem with it but I didn’t want to mention that me and the guy had something going on unless he told her. Recently we hung out without the friend group in his room. Nothing happened but I think the two girls he was involved with and who are also our friends will feel some type of way about it. To be clear I don’t have romantic feelings for him anymore. I also make sure I set boundaries if he has someone he’s dating. We’re both single right now.
Is it ok if I hang out with him alone without the friend group? and is it weird that we’re still friends?
