Of course. It's called friendship. You can like someone and think they're cool, but not have any interest in becoming anything beyond friendship with that person.

I’m not sure, personally I need it spelt out to me, ie if a guy says they like me I assume he’s being friendly not like like me. Might have to be as subtle as a brick.

One can always lead into another. If you asked her about yourself as a person gage the reply and if she uses words that would describe a boyfriend ask her thoughts on you as a potential future boyfriend?

Ask on here what words a girl would use for the guy she likes or her ideal boyfriend. I would use handsome, kind, patient. I wouldn’t use polite, organised, well presented, smart that I would use for a guy who’s a friend.
