How to get over abandonment attachment issues?

I’ve experienced a lot of loss in a short amount of time. I lost my 11 year relationship out of the blue when he was shot and killed. I also lost two pets of 15 years and 12 years around the same time. I’ve noticed I have abandonment issues of feeling like I’m going to lose someone. I have a hard time getting close to somebody and when I finally do I tend to be a little clingy. Which is hard when my boyfriend is kind of avoidant and withdrawals from people he cares about when he’s overwhelmed.
