Does having "chemistry" always mean romantic feelings?

My friends keep teasing me and a guy friend have a lot of chemistry and good banter. I had already admitted to him before I use to have feelings for him, and he said things would of been different if I had told him back then.

Back then I had another guy who fawned over me and pretty much cock-blocked me from my guy friend. He didn't want to upset my other guy friend and stayed away from me.

But we always texted anyway, even up until now we text almost everyday and we both share a lot of problems with each other. We both understand eachother very deeply too and we tease eachother relentlessly. He doesn't like to see me worrying or stressed and worries he is the problem. He says he would rather see my problems resolved first because it would make him happier.

Would you say this is romantic or platonic? And can chemistry be platonic?

Definitely not. We can feel there’s something between us without it being lust. A commonality in opinion, enjoyment, or activity/cause produces a form of chemistry or love. Phillo or brotherly love rather than Eros or Agape.
