Am I wrong for going through my ex’s diary to find proof?

So I know it sounds bad and it probably is no matter what the circumstances are but the reason I went through my ex’s diary was because I have felt that she has been using me emotionally for a while now. We have been on and off for quite some time and sometimes it feels like old times then suddenly she pulls away. So I went through her diary and basically she had proven me right. She feels safe, comfortable and secure with me but still knows deep down I am not the man for her. Yet she still pursues me when we fall off and becomes very affectionate when we do reconcile. I know what I must do now but am I wrong for snooping even though I got the answers I needed?
