Guys, what is it with you asking a woman to travel to you for the first date? Is it insecurities or just lazy?

Honestly, it's because he might be interested, but not enough to travel a long distance. I mean if I was seriously interested there is no way I would ask her to do that.

But at 46 years old, I am not interested in traveling more than 50 miles for a woman, even if it's just to get laid. But if she wanted to come to me then sure, I would be more than happy. For most guys they are not interested in traveling all the way out there, then paying for dinner or what not and then driving back. You want me to come out there then I am spending the night, or I am not coming backing same day... and want some assurance you are going to make it worth my time to put out all that effort.

But if you are willing to come to me, stay at my place then I am more than happy to give it a try... because if you want me to make it worth your while I definitely would. I am just not going to drive 100 miles for it.

So that is what it means. And it has nothing do to with being lazy or insecurities... we just don't want to waste our time. Because I would come down there for an entire weekend, and if things go well, I will see if we could work out the dating thing... but I am not coming down there for cup coffee and hug good night at the end. Because I assure you if that is how it all ends then I am not coming back again... and then I just wasted a bunch of money and time.

But if she wants to come to me, sure I would be the perfect gentlemen and hope she would come again... but if I go down there... I am bringing expectations.

100% correct I could agree more... so he asks because it's not worth it to him to travel to you regardless of the sex. But figures if you want to come to him, then it is worth the trouble to ask. All you can say is no, but he us not really that interest anyway... so he loses nothing in asking. If he was seriously interested, then he would not ask.

Only other explanation is that he is a cheapskate, loser or had money issues, which again tells you all you need to know. Because if he was none of those things he would not have asked.

How far are we talking? lol But to your question; men, just like women, have lives to live. The fact you're a woman doesn't change the fact that we have other obligations that are often more important than satisfying a dating convention.
