What motivates people to jump into serious relationships with people they have only recently met?

I once observed two guys who did that. With the knowledge of the two guy's past and future, what I found was very interesting.

My conclusion with Guy A was that he was just really infatuated with the girl. He was really into her and found her to be very attractive but their dynamic felt off. Like it was positive but it just felt superficial like he didn't really seeing her for her or listened to her voice in a way and was just very enchanted by her beauty (maybe he was in love with the idea of her? not sure if that's the right description). He said he fell in love with her at the time, but really i think he was confusing that for infatuation. Less than a month into the relationship he was already talking about how he was gonna dress when meeting her parents and saying he could see them being married in 2 years. It didn't even really feel like he became friends with her. It ended i think within a year due to personality differences according to her. Retrospectively I feel like it just confirmed that I was right since he then went on to met a girl who he didn't fall head over heels for from the jump and the funny thing is she was incredibly attractive as well and while he was really attracted to her he didn't throw himself at her (for other reasons), they actually became friends first and it really felt like he saw her for her and listened to her and they had amazing chemistry. They just really complimented each other and it felt right where even others noticed it and would say this girl was special and unlike any girl he's ever been with and that they didn't think Guy A had ever met a girl like her and that he met his match with her.

Guy B on the other hand had also fallen head over heels for a girl, but the difference is it didn't end, in the very beginning (about a month in) they were already talking about how their future children would be able to see their love story unfold because of their recordings and the guy would constantly do such sweet gestures. After knowing each other only for a year they got engaged and a year after, they were married and still are with kids. They did also skip being friends in my opinion but it somehow just worked for them. They did bond over their love for science related stuff so I think maybe perhaps he'd never really known someone who shared love for the same things he was interested in.

So, what motivates people to jump into serious relationships with people they have only recently met? Based off these two situations, i've learnt it could be due to someone's beauty and being infatuated with that and thinking its love OR it can be because they never met someone like that person and want to lock them down and shower them with love. Of course there's many other reasons for many other different situations but these are the ones I've noticed for these two particular situations.

Sometimes you meet someone and you just know you wanna you gotta shoot your shot. When I met my boyfriend I wasn’t wanting a relationship at all however there was something about him that I knew I needed to shoot my shot. We’ve been together about 2yrs. It's not a logical choice, and that's coming from somebody who prides himself on using logic and planning out far ahead.

You just get a feeling of connection with someone- you jive, vibe, whatever you wanna call it- there is a click that makes that person of prime interest to you. This is what pushes people to jump into relationship.

My current girlfriend is athletic, very pretty, a virgin, from a good family, conservative (not a brainwashed feminist), and has her life together (meaning she isn't a charity case, or will cause disorder in my life), but despite her checking every box (and before I even knew all of that) we just clicked well together- and I found myself cutting off other girls I was talking to and focusing on her. Even when I thought I decided she wasn't the one (because I was still so hung up on my ex) I saw the way she looked at me, and that look in her eyes changed my heart towards her. Now, I'm planning on proposing, and we're settling into a solid relationship.

You can't jump into a serious relationship with someone you have only recently met.

The definition of a serious relationship is getting to know someone so they can like you for who you really are. This takes awhile. It involves spending a lot of time with them so you can find out more about them and be sure that you like them for the specially qualities that they have.

It's a commitment that shows how much they really care about you. It really is the acid test.

i agree. I knew two situations that proved this. One happened to a good boy and one happened to a bad boy. The good boy fell head over heels for a girl under a month and a year into their relationship got engaged and married a year later. They've been together for over a decade now and have kids. They bonded over having the same passion and with that I concluded that he probably never met a girl like her who had the same love for the same thing. The bad boy met a girl after more than a decade of being a womanizer and didn't ever plan on settling or getting married and this girl just changed everything for him. He only knew her for about a year and proposed to her and got married 8 months later.
