Do you mean like what is going on between the two like where do you stand with that person. I would respond to how I feel about them. I like spending time with them or I enjoy the conversations, or I am looking for something serious or just want to be friends and not looking for anything

It depends whether they know the girl or not, if they don't... I just say we're dating. It's quick and easy and saves having to go into the intricate details of why we aren't 'technically" dating.

If they know her I say, "nothing at all", then change subjects.

Your romantic life is no one's business. Dont allow people to choke your seeks that need protection.
