My boyfriend didn't go out with me because he said he wasn't given A personal invitation by the so called planners. Is that right?

I got invited by a guy friend to a get together. I asked my boyfriend to come along cause I really wanted him to and he said no that since he wasn't personally invited for the get together he wasn't coming. I later went for it and we've been fighting over it. Is what he did right because the person that invited me knows him and it was an open invitation. Was it a must he gets a personal invitation. I am so tired and confused I feel very bad for myself

I think he is probably to immature for you as he seems to be being a baby. It is not becoming and it appears that he is doing everything possible to ruin a good time.

I hope that he is smart enough to accompany his woman to her party. Sometimes, he will have to ride in the second seat. Hopefully for you both this works out well.

Just go yourself and you can’t force someone to do something they don’t want to do. You wouldn’t want him pressuring you.

Thanks for ur opinion. Thing is he knows this guys and they always go out together but this one time I got invited and told him he said he wasn't gonna go. He knows this people have nothing against him and thy would have no problem with him but he still refused.. he was making a fuzz on the fact that I went without him. He really hurt me cause I'd never do what he did to me

Sounds like he’s making himself look bad before your friends even meet him. That was his chance to meet your friends and get further invites from those people if they do like him. Too bad he’s probably going to sabotage things before your friends even meet him in person

Sounds like he’s being a jerk. Lay down the facts in one breath, leave it there, and if he choices to continue acting up, then he is not the one and your date night calendar is now wide open.

Think of it like this: the event is a microcosm for a future event. You, as Dr.____ are being awarded a lifetime achievement award. He forgot it was a Black Tie event and was not allowed in due to wearing a Hawaiin shirt. He’s making a scene and you’re about to go up and present your acceptance speech.

A thought creeps in: ‘should’ve dropped him back in 2022…’

If i was in his situation i might have done the same unless you asked the person who invited you and they said i could come. I dont want to offend anyone by showing up uninvited, and i dont think its right for me to show up regardless of if, in this case my wife, said its okay. if that makes sense. I would not need a personal invite, but i would insist it be confirmed that its ok that i be there.

He wasn't doing it in the name of people there would be offended. He feels he should be invited by the person before he comes. I feel so horrible I almost wanna breakup cause why would my own boyfriend not come with me to a get together when I want to be with him. He chooses an invitation over me. I even asked the person that asked me to come if he could and he said yes that he thought my boyfriend already knows because he had told my bfs friend. He thought I'll stay home cause he didn't come with me like I always did. But I didn't. I went nevertheless even if I was hurt the whole time.

Now it sounds like he is being stupid, or purposefully stubborn. If it were me, that phrase right there is all the reason i need to come. The guy is either jealous and insecure and wanted you to choose him over the party, or im not sure what.
