What are the chances my boyfriend is cheating on me?

We live together and are only separated when he is at work. We are constantly communicating and even track one another’s locations so I know he’s physically at work. Please don’t give me crap about the location thing please. I’m working on that. Could it be possible that he’s cheating at work with someone from work? He doesn’t wear cologne but comes home with a strong perfume smell many days. He has an automotive job and is in customer’s vehicles and also close to technicians who he goes on test drives with.

The problem is: "the location thing" completely undercuts any credibility your suspicions might otherwise have.

So, in short: "Yea, it sounds kind of weird that your boyfriend working in the automotive industry comes home smelling of perfume." But there are other possibilities (which you're already considering, that are plausible explanations for this).

The problem is: You aren't "just some girl" asking this about her boyfriend. You're "a crazy girlfriend" (no offence intended).

You are a girlfriend who tracks the location of your boyfriend. I will respect your request to not get any shit about it (and trust me, this is NOT me going into my feelings about this location thing).

But it STILL completely colors everything about this. You are an insanely, over-the-top, inexcusably-suspicious girlfriend. That's unarguable. Therefore, it's hard to give credit to ANY of your suspicions for cheating (even if they happen to be well-founded).

You aren't going to take my advice, but here it is anyway:

You can't be in a relationship with someone you don't trust.

If you have suspicions he's cheating, you should ask him about it, and judge the truthfulness of his answers. If that sounds crazy to you, because you have no confidence he would be truthful with you... Then, once again, I'll reiterate that you can't be in a relationship with someone you don't trust.

You have these suspicions, and you do need to have them satisfied. Because..."you can't be in a relationship with someone you don't trust!"

So if you DON'T trust that he is being faithful; and DON'T trust him to be truthful about it if asked; and DON'T trust him enough to not track his location... your relationship is doomed. Regardless of whether or not he is cheating right now, your relationship is doomed without that trust.

If he's lost that trust already... then it's time to break-up because you're never going to get your question about cheating answered. You will ALWAYS wonder if he's cheating on you. No matter what anybody (me, him, someone else on here) says... you will always be equally suspicious... because at the end of the day... you feel this guy might cheat. In other words you don't trust him.

To be perfectly honest you need to stop "working on" the location thig. It's not a "work-on" thing. It's a "do it" thing. And if you can't do it with this guy... like I said you're already fucked, and might as well not delay the inevitable breakup. If you can't do it with guys IN GENERAL, then that's a serious issue you NEED to change. There's no excuse for that.

So unless you can both: get rid of the tracking; AND get your suspicions satisfied about whether he's cheating... you're ALWAYS going to wonder.

The trust issues are going to keep you from ever enjoying your relationship or feeling secure in it. If you can't trust THIS GUY... time to end the relationship. If you can't trust ANY guy... you need to work on that, because that will end ALL your relationships.

He could be cheating, however, it seems that you are going to have to trust him fully or let him go.

Trust is a major component of a healthy relationships, and this kind of controlling behavior could very well cause him to want to cheat. Doesn't necessarily mean he is, and it didn't justify cheating but unless he gives you reason to believe he's cheating don't assume he is. It could also lead him to suspect that you could be cheating because a lot of narcissistic cheaters will usually falsely accuse their partner of cheating to try to hide their own infidelity. Not saying these are your intentions or reasons, but it could be misinterpreted this way. Either way if there is no trust, especially over a long period of time, then there's even less reason not to cheat.

If you're tracking his every move and talk to him during the day, chances are pretty slim that he's cheating on you.
He gets in customers cars all day long. Have you been in some of these cars that women own? Some women smell like they bathe themselves in perfume. That smell transfers to anything they sit in. Most likely that's why he comes home smelling like a woman.

Is he handsome, tall, muscular? Is he overly confident with women? If he is not, I don't think you should worry. If he is, still many women don't make the first move. If he cheats, it's most likely he makes the first move. Is he the type to pursue women while he is taken?
