SETTLE vs SETTLE DOWN... In a relationship, what is the difference? Or are they the same?
It’s a big difference to Settle on who someone is verse relationally Settling Down with partner within the said realization.
In a relationship connotation Settle verse Settling Down can affect both happiness and success. 1. Settle suggests a negative outcome such as settling for 100,000 rather than that 150,000 salaried man. “I swore that I would never date another life wasting, Momma basement dwelling, and couch sitting Gamer again BUT, sure enough, he is Gamer.”
Compromising on everything is an example of settling for the sake of having something to settle down into. This will implode as those things being avoided or ignored will exacerbate into annoying or negative settlements.Settle can also be a good place to be. At least in our head we have come to terms with who the person is. We are beginning to settle in with the actuality of who we MAY settle down with.
Settle down suggests a permanent and fixed state where one is calm and comfortable with Self, partner, and the formation of two into one. Settled down seems purrrrfect in its beginning but, as we soon learn, this dynamic is anything but fixed.
Let the nagging and changing and fixing and realignment, and “man, can I deal with this 🦇 💩 Crazy woman thinking on how I should be and act…. I didn’t leave a Mom to go get another one….”, begin as we rediscover one another at least monthly….

Compromise vs. get out of the rat race.
There is little difference. They are related in name and in practice.
Settling means lowering your standards, usually to satisfy someone else’s expectations rather than your own. Settling down means slowing your pace of life, also usually to satisfy someone else’s expectations.
It’s tough to lower your output without sacrificing your standards. People change, but rarely drastically and rarely suddenly. Sudden and drastic change is almost unheard of for good reason. It’s usually no bueno.Settling is when you know that the person isn’t the best fit or you don’t love them the way that you should or they don’t love you the way they should or because it’s better than being alone or raising kids as a single parentdo you know when When you know you put out more than they do or you’re willing to do more than they are you’re settling
Settling down is when you No longer feel the need to go out to clubs over parties date different people you found somebody that you would rather stay in and watch TV with all night your pajamas raising kids working planning things to look forward to in life and making memories settling down is when you know you found somebody that that you want to share and make memories with something like that I guess
To settle is to except less than you deserve,
whereas settle down has multiple meanings:1) To become quiet, calm, or orderly.
2) To begin to live a steady life by marrying, and getting a “real” job, house etc..To settle means to choose something you did not particularly want because the thing you wanted was not available.
You order a chicken sandwich, they tell you they have no chicken and give you turkey. You settle for turkey because the only other option is nothing and you’re hungry.
To settle down means to remain in a relationship with one person, settle into a home together, fall into a routine and…well, that’s pretty much it.- u

Settle: accept less than you really want
Settle Down: marry. The partner might be someone one settles for, or might be just about perfect.I see no difference aside from what you do once you settle.

Paul could not settle his debt.

Are you going to settle for John? Ie choose JohnSettle reminds me of physical diffusion. Settle down reminds me of social stuff. I’m horrible at the latter!
