Why doesn't my boyfriend ever listen?

My boyfriend and I had a huge fight earlier. Once again it has to do with him not listening to things I ask him. He was cooking with the brand new cookware and I asked him to use a non stick spoon. I came out of the shower to see him stirring the pot with a metal spoon. I really lost it on him. Is this something that can be fixed? Or is he just too self absorbed to give a crap?

I remember my dad would often add sugar instead of a salt when cooking lol my mom would get angry and be like wth where were your eyes - it turns out my dad needed labeling. My mom added sugar in a sugar bowl that read sugar and salt in a salt bowl that read salt since then he never made that mistake of confusing it. I guess your boyfriend was confused which one is the non sticky or metal one etc. You should have left only that outside visible so he could notice it easily. Yep he is a baby Cho chute

How about instead of be littling him about it, educate him on it. I wouldn’t listen to someone either if they let their ocd control their thoughts and not putting actual thought and logic into things.

If you’re genuinely in doubt of your relationship over a fucking spoon then yes, leave your boyfriend and let him be that guy that says in years to come … wow I dodged that bullet! And I know that’s not the point, and the point is the listening part, but can’t you appreciate he gave up time to do something he’s probably not good at just to give it to you? Most guys are clueless about kitchen , some can cook some items but are generally clueless about small details. Guys who actually are very good in everything about kitchen will be very rare. So better stick and educate the one you already have 😂
