Do you think this is true? A guy takes commitment more seriously than a Girl does?

I am in the middle with this , cuz it mainly comes down to that individual person but with my experiences with girls it seems Girls’ want commitment but only on their terms , like a girl doesn’t really know what it means to remove selfishness for her partner , she doesn’t really think she is wrong in anything , she leans more on the selfish side of things on what is best for her , Don’t get me wrong I know guys can be selfish as well , but when it comes to relationships I feel a guy has a lot more responsibility to keep his girl by his side , he has to listen to her bitching and nagging , gets told he is a pig if he wants to have sex with her like she is the only one that can initiate it , If a guy forgets to do one thing she asked him , there is hell to pay , most girls compare their men to other men , A guy I feel has to be more of the punching bag over anything to get his girl to eventually come to him , What girls don’t realize we don’t commit to her to be single we commit to her hoping she is going
To love and stay faithful to us and have our backs , where a girl has a tendency to do what is best for her without considering his feelings What’s your thoughts?

When guys commit, it is a kind of commit that is deeper than a woman. We're not comfortable in all those woman emotional places and crevices. Often, guys tend to lose their Men Credentials at this point then she switches off while we are wide open and "all-in".

@guy13 That's because deep down men understand that they loss more when committing to a woman. If a guy "committs" he's basically saying he will discontinue pursuing other woman. When a women "committs" she does not have to discontinue being pursued by other men, allowing her to continue to receive attention which is what is important to her. Committing to one women is probably the dumbest thing a man can do in life, and all stats and evidence back this up.

Yea i rarely compromise, i’ll admit that. It just feels like a form of settling to me, thats why i prefer to lay it all out on the table beforehand so that we can choose if we want to stay or go. I can compromise on little things like whats for dinner or what film we should watch first. But big things like when we want to have kids, what sexual stuff we’re into, etc i dont feel we should settle/compromise

Well @DizzyDesii , without compromising you really don’t have anything , so what would even be the point in getting into a relationship with someone if you only want things your way? Yes it’s good to lay things out on the table and be honest about yourself and what you are looking for but you can’t expect that person to 100 percent agree with you on those things. Most people will say what they want out of a relationship and usually the other person just agrees , because they aren’t looking at the big picture , they are just infatuated by that person and putting their own interests and values aside to appease that person cuz it’s new and exciting to them , but when push comes to shove when they realize they really don’t have much in common with this person they start to get distant or bored and left with a question mark on whether they want to stay with this person or not , they start missing the things they really enjoyed , so they start playing a victim and acting like you all of a sudden are this horrible person , and say things like aren’t the same person I met in the beginning , I deserve better than this and Bam that’s where selfishness comes into play , they are only thinking of themselves, but they are only thinking of themselves because you choose to only think of yourself , so that’s why you shouldn’t live with the mind set that it’s your way or no way , for love to grow between 2 people we have to learn to remove selfishness from inside ourselves To show each other respect , If you can’t respect your partner whether you agree with them or not you are going to continue with failed relationships , You will have a track record of partners that just think damn that girl is crazy or she is selfish or she is just a player , she only thinks of herself. so honestly you should never commit to someone until you are willing to compromise with them and remove selfishness for them because they will not be able to do that for you

I feel like you're referring to an extremely specific type of toxic girl. That kind of toxic behaviour isn't limited to one gender. So no I don't believe men take it more seriously. Attitude towards commitment depends on the individuals character and not their gender.

It all depends of the individual but I might slightly agree with men caring more, when it comes to marriage the beliefs around it are developed by the culture and religion of where you reside for the most part. Here in America I feel we glamorize so much scandal and drama/cheating/money above all, hustle culture, divorce, but many cultures do and they still have a heavy traditional influence present America really doesn’t, America has such high divorce rates because we do love marriages, a lot of people think love can prevail above all… love should be the essence of the stability, comfort, enjoyment, experiences you have together and communication/respect is a big deal, if all the things you have go and one day your suffering the love isn’t going to be there, if you can’t easily come to agreements and feel secure while dealing with issues, then some just have it ingrained in then that divorce is no option, there for most people in our culture view it ass backwards. We love first set terms later, have sex knowing the risks but expect loyalty with no contract therefore no compensation for damage or agreed responsibility for stepping out. Men will still do all the things with a women that can still hold them back but avoid marriage because the stigma of losing freedom and having set obligations women aren’t normally avoiding that.
