A question born by a little vignette I found on my feed today.

It's difficult to say whether infidelity is more common nowadays or simply more accepted, as there is limited data on infidelity throughout history. However, it's possible that infidelity may be more prevalent or more visible in modern times due to factors such as increased access to technology and social media, changing social norms and attitudes towards monogamy, and greater gender equality.
Additionally, while infidelity has always been present, people may be more willing to talk openly about it now, which can make it seem like it's more accepted. However, it's important to note that infidelity can have serious emotional consequences for all parties involved, and it is generally not accepted as a healthy or desirable behavior in committed relationships.
I don't have any reason to think it is more common, but it is probably more easily detected in a digital world, and it is certainly discussed more openly.
Infidelity is disgusting. F*ckbois and F*ckgirls are gross. They don't care about anyone not even their own selves. I don't understand how people can do this to others. I guess some people decide to cheat if they get cheated on. Which to me doesn't justify cheating.
I live by this quote.
"Beauty blooms from the heart. Don't let the ugly in others kill the beauty in you."
I'm only storing positivity in my heart. If someone does me wrong, I'll pray for them so God can heal them. But I'm not going to contaminate my heart for others.
I think it's just as common but people both suck at hiding it now due to technology and some just straight up don't hide it at all.
I think phones allow people to hide it way easier. My phone is my phone you don't ever get to look through it or at it.
Those that want to hide it anyways, but your right many don't care and lots of open relationships it seems.
There are also couples that "know" and at the same time "don't want to know". Know a few people like that.

Neither. I think infidelity is just more known today, mostly because of social media.
All we have to go on is statistics from surveys which isn't very reliable. The tired from that is that it's gone up but that could just be people are more honest, people are more likely to get caught because of how the world is, more likely to get called out too.
Neither, its a case of fake statistics and people not bothering to weigh the number of noted cases against the 8 BILLION people.
Most people see a hundred or a thousand examples and think, oh, it must be everyone, but the internet and news let you see the world, and they usually only show you the negative things. And 1,000 is nothing compared to 8,000,000,000.
It's less hidden and less judged but not necessarily more accepted nor necessarily more common.
Social media glorified it
But to be fair it is more accepted if compared to centuries ago where cheaters where stoned by an angry mob, or any other punishment based of cultures.
It's probably statistically gotten more common. The female sexual revolution and online communication have openned a lot of doors in that regard.
I don't think people are any more accepting of the behavior though.
it's a matter of perspective...
the one thing that I can answer for sure is that I am as faithful today... as I was 16 years ago
Who knows? I don't believe it is even possible to know.
If it's more accepted, I think I'll just tip my hat and leave
I don't know.. There is a reason why gps emulators for phones are so common.
No, nothing has changed. People just openly discuss it more now.
It's discussed more openly and potentially easier to contact others for those purposes.
Probably more common because in the past people could not go online to find hookups
I guess just more talked about
I will never be acceptable to me.
I don't think so.
