Will he talk to me again?

I really like this guy and we've been friends for a year now. We are in the same friends group. I think he likes me back. The thing is that there were some stupid fights within the group and some of them starting talking bad behind his back and not inviting him places. I knew about this, but I tried to keep myself out of the situation and continued to do stuff with him. I think he knew all this was going on and he told me he felt bad because he thinks we do not consider him our friend. There was a surprise birthday organised for a girl within the group, but her boyfriend don't like him so he was not invited, again I knew about this but I did not want to get involved and I didn't tell him. He found out through a picture on social media and now he is not talking to me, will he talk back to me, how much time/space should I give him? I didn't want to hurt but I can truly not control how other people feel about him and it certainly has nothing to do with the way I feel about him, I just don't think he understands this
