My new manager.. I came in today and he didn’t look at me or say Hi.. later on that evening I asked him if he was ok?

And he said “yeah, just a lot of personal things.. “ as he said that he pulled out his phone to look at it for a brief second and a picture of a young child featured on his display pic..

at first I thought he was mad at me but then I thought maybe he just works so much, his baby mama is mad at him for not spending enough time with his kid.

I overthink everything so then I asked, “regarding my training, do you feel as if I’m suppose to be where I am at this point? like am I slacking anywhere? Or is there something I should be doing that I’m not doing? “

and with a very serious tone, he convinced me that his weird behavior today had nothing to do with me, because he said I’m where I should be..

I just wanted to hug him but it’s against the rules, and there’s no wedding ring on his finger.. I feel like he’s married to work…

Flip the coin! If you're up to it, why don't you say "Good Morning, Evening.. (his name) and a smile, he's a new manager trying to figure out his crew and how to fill shifts and please upper management/owner. I am sure in time he will loosen up.
