Sounds like you are generally disillusioned. Most people put masks on, not wanting to show their real thoughts and feelings. There are some of them do so insincerely. Do you admit to having a bad day immediately, or do you keep it to yourself? That could technically be considered being fake.

Because most people would rather believe an interesting lie than a boring truth. In short being fake is generally rewarded more often than being honest.
