Who do you think should pay?

So lets say you suggest doing something with your partner that both of you seem interested going and you pay for the tickets (that are not refundable) and closer to the day you end up not feeling well. But your partner ends up going to see this thing another day with someone else but still wants to go with you. I told them that its a waste of time since they already saw it and it didn't make sense to pay for something twice especially if they already saw it. But they still want to go.

Should I be the one paying again for the tickets or should my partner pay?

Or are you implying that the partner used the tickets you previously bought? In which case, I suppose they should buy the next lot to make it even

No they didn't use the tickets that I prebought, they got their own tickets with that person
