I understand what you mean.
I am truly passionate about my job. I love teaching so much…I get excited in the morning going to working. Even if I am tired in the morning…once I get in and see my students…I became lively!! My energy just flows high the next 6 hours with them. I want to let them k ow how smart they are and how they are the future of our society!!
I am also passionate about something else…I go crazy when I see them.
But it’s different from live/intimacy. Once I shared all that with others… I want to be home with my honey… just enjoy a simple meal together, to have him to talk to, to laugh together, go places together…life aside from work, passionate about arts, history, travel, food…etc… all that can’t replace a human to hold, to hug and share life with.
I have had 4 very serious relationships in my life. And a second marriage…life gets better when we learn/grow/live/love.

Maybe at some later time you would like to have a partner. Right now, you don't want one. There is nothing wrong with this.

Love is just a feeling. "Deep-seated affection for" is what I remember from the dictionary. I feel that for cheesecake, cocaine, and my pet rat that's already dead.

Too many people in my opinion conflate that feeling with romantic shit. You seem on the right path of understanding it for what it is. I mean... I think it's great if someone finds love in a romantic relationship... but love isn't exactly always connected to sexy time. We'd be a disgusting animal of the worst kind if it was. I'd be fucking my cheesecake, putting my dick in my bag of blow, and slapping my dead rat with my hard on.

Loving yourself is what actually makes you attractive if you think about it. Someone who loves themselves.

Knows what they want out of life so you don’t have to deal with them being indecisive
they’re not insecure because they are already secure in there own space
because they value themselves in a Positive way. not pompous. They also treat others better also.

Sometimes love finds you when you’re not looking for it. Just make sure you make friends along the way. I know it sounds old school but making friends helps the search without searching. Friendly life hack.

True love in a romantic context... I don't know. I'm wondering if it's not kind of a thing of the past somewhat. I see it once in a while, maybe. Like where I have no doubt things will last between the two of them - they support each other, stick up for each other, etc.

But then, I have gotten cynical because of bad relationships, and what I see with a lot of others, so... I don't know if I'll even get married at this point. I used to think I would get married... have kids... I used to think I'd be decent at being a husband... now I don't know if I'll find someone. My luck is not great.

True love as far as a hobby or passion? Yes, I found it. It doesn't amount to much, but I found something.

I feel like I can definitely find true love. I feel like it's something that's not magical and it's not perfect, there are no true soul mates but it's something that is someone that is not perfect but what's best for me. It's whoever I can be the most compatible with. It still takes work I think and patience.

At some point you are likely to want kids of your own. Suddenly being married to the job is not all that.

Also you may find later on that you become less enamored with the way the government takes your passion and vocation and uses it against you and to pay you less and demand more from you.
