Guys, How to improve intimacy in a relationship when the guy doesn’t initiate any dates or sex?

We’ve been dating for 3 years. At the start, we were all over each other (honeymoon period!) but now he rarely (if ever) initiates sex and hasn’t organized a date night or any couples activity for us in about 2 years.

I still initiate sex, small gestures of intimacy and organise date nights. I’ve also spoken to him and told him I don’t want to be the one initiating everything all the time. I’ve even tried stopping everything to see if that would prompt him but it doesn’t.

Any suggestions or ideas on what I could do?

Perhaps ask him what he wants out of the relationship, what he needs. Sex and intimacy is normally a given so maybe his hearts not in the relationship or he has other things on his mind.

3 years is a long time to be drifting and you need to be thinking long term and making sure he's on mission.

Find out what's on his mind, chances are he's stressing about something and that's caused him to put your relationship at a lower priority. If it's something you can help with, do it. Outside of that maybe try couples theraphy?

I have asked him and his response comes down to him knowing he should be doing more but he doesn’t know why he doesn’t do it. He says he loves me and will try harder but then he doesn’t.

It’s not like he’s cold towards me. But I just feel like I’m taken for granted.
